So we finally carved our pumpkins.........It starts out with a flurry of boys and little hands to close to the knives then it quickly dwindles to dad going to work, boys impatient, then tired, then asleep.....leaving mom alone with six pumpkins worth of guts on the porch and five unfinished pumpkins. As I sat in the dark hoping not to cut my fingers I remembered Halloweens back in the day.
I swear I can remember wanting to do the best pumpkin ever and doing pretty good and then with one cut the mouth became a hole with no teeth and the eyes were to close together. But somehow the worst carving jobs become the best placed in the dark only lit by candle light.
Last year the boys grimaced at the in-ards of the pumpkin this year they were up to there chins. Truth is it's been a long time, (if ever) I scooped out my own pumpkin...First my Dad did the dirty work, Then Brent, now the Boys, I just slip away during the goo.
So my house looks like this right now......ya.
