So how do you teach four, four year olds how to ride a bike with no training wheels...ANSWER: Push them down the hill and hope for the best.
So here was our theory; Take them to a field rather than a parking lot. When they fall, no skinned knees, no tears...it absolutely worked!
By the second day we were on the side walk! Only problem, any people walking that day became crash potential..(what makes a little kid go straight towards the legs of a runner I will never know).
Lincoln got how to self propel first and was going without help in minutes, Everett wasn't far behind. Sevy had a little fear and would forget to pedal...but he figured it out. Guy always hesitant, was motivated by his brothers laughs and smiles...and soon joined the bike line. WOO HOO what an accomplishment for the parents!
A crash moment
look at Brent's face....willing a good ride for Sevy.
Everett so proud! On the side walk.
Lincoln a natural
Sevy so happy...Dad so happy!

Jon and I were laughing at your cute post... Genius!
i have met a few brain surgeons who might advise a better fitting helmet...
Congratulations on their new found freedom.

Oh! Love the technique you used, lol not many parents would opt for that one. Love the crash photos too. Such a wonderful milestone for the boys to reach, they'll be tearing up the footpath (aka side walk) in no time.
